I am a school library media specialist, beginning teacher mentor, and remote learning coach in Weldon City Schools. I also serve as an educational advisor for Upward Bound. I began my employment with Weldon City Schools in 2016. I advise Book Club, Hour of Code, and National Honor Society. I work collaboratively to expose students to the fields of library science and STEM.
My professional experience includes working as an English Language Arts teacher for the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District and Greensville County Public Schools. I also worked as a secondary English teacher for Halifax County Schools. I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Library Science degree from East Carolina University. I am pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership - School Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. My academic research interest includes school culture.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, tinkering with gadgets, reading, journaling, volunteering at church, and spending time with family and friends.
