Sandra Warren is an award winning author with publications in several genres. She has been both traditionally published as well as independently published. The first session being presented, WWII: School Children Do Their Part, is based on her book, We Bought A WWII Bomber: The Untold Story Of A Michigan High School, a B-17 Bomber & The Blue Ridge Parkway, which was awarded a 2017 State History Award from the Michigan Historical Society. The second session, Turning Nonfiction into Thought Provoking Historical Fiction for the Modern Classroom, presented with Kathleen Burkinshaw, author of The Last Cherry Blossom, will focus on Kathleen's book, The Last Cherry Blossom, and on Sandra's two historical fiction novels, She Started It All, a MG based on the bomber book mentioned above, and Obsessed By A Promise, a YA/Adult book with the backdrop of the Orphan Train.

Sandra enjoys sharing her unusual author journey and the various genres in which she has publications, with groups of all ages. Originally from Michigan and Ohio, Sandra now resides and writes from a log home in the mountains of North Carolina.
